The Salvation Army is a global movement and International Development exists to connect Salvationists in this territory with our brothers and sisters around the world so that we can learn from and support one another.
We provide financial and technical support to projects within six areas:
- Anti-trafficking
- Clean water
- Emergency response
- Food security
- Gender justice
We are also responsible for overseeing the transfer of funds for the territory's international mission support - money donated through the annual Self-Denial Appeal.
Following Jesus’ example, we journey alongside communities around the world to overcome the challenges of poverty and injustice. We seek to inspire a movement of people to pursue the restoration of our world so everyone can experience life in all its fullness.
This year's theme is 'New Beginnings' with a focus on anti-human trafficking and modern slavery.
Benjamin Gilbert explains the differences and links between the Army’s two major international appeals.
