Join with Salvationists of the Wales Division for day 74 of 150 days of prayer.

  • ‘Do something, God! Show everyone that you are good’ (Psalm 74:22, EasyEnglish Bible).

1947

Denbigh Corps is recorded as existing in 1888. It closed on 22 September 1947. The Army’s International Heritage Centre has a small card that was distributed by the corps officers in 1910.

The Salvation Army, Denbigh
Motto for 1910
HE KNOWS
God holds the key of all unknown
And I am glad;
If other hands had held the key,
Or if He trusted it to me,
I might be sad.

Captain F Jacob & Lieutenant M Broome
Wish you every good wish for a prosperous and happy New Year.

They may have been sad if they had known that the corps would close in 1947 or they may have rejoiced that the corps served the community for a further 37 years. Focusing solely on the closure of a corps does not tell the whole story.

Prayer

  • Do you know when your corps commenced? Thank God for that new beginning and that the corps is still serving your community.
  • Your corps may be planning a new beginning of some sort – a differently timed prayer meeting, a Bible study or a new outreach programme. Cover that venture with prayer.
