Join with Salvationists of the Wales Division for day 65 of 150 days of prayer.

  • ‘God, you are the one who saves us! You answer our prayers, and you do great things to rescue us’ (Psalm 65:5, EasyEnglish Bible).

1938

General Evangeline Cory Booth spoke at the largest building in Swansea, the Plaza cinema. The 12 March War Cry reported the event under the heading, ‘Packed Hall and Spring Sunshine Greet the General in South Wales’:

‘The General straightaway linked herself with the people by telling of a name she bears which is a constant reminder of what South Wales has done for the Army. She told of the Cory brothers and her visits to Wales as a girl. She told of her love for music and song and tightened her grip on her listeners by her sympathetic understanding of Welsh problems.’
