Join with Salvationists of the Wales Division for day 52 of 150 days of prayer.

  • ‘I will always praise you, God, for what you have done. I will trust you to help me, together with all those who serve you’ (Psalm 52:9, EasyEnglish Bible).

1925

Under the headline, ‘Hell’s Corner Triumph,’ and sub-heading, ‘Famous Welsh Battle-ground the Scene of Another Capture,’ the War Cry reported: ‘Swansea Citadel comrades made another capture at Hell’s Corner on Saturday night when a young man, on hearing the open-air meeting, came out of a public house nearby and knelt in the ring. He attended all the meetings on Sunday and testified to the change in his life.’

Testimonies – personal stories of faith – were very important in the early Army. Sharing what God is doing in our life helps our spiritual growth. It also encourages those listening. God is still at work; he is still changing lives.

Prayer

  • Consider your own faith journey and thank God for giving you the living presence of Jesus. Tell someone today what that means to you.
  • This 150th anniversary year has the theme Dyma Gariad (Here is Love) and focuses on ‘God’s Story, Our Story, Your Story’. If you are in the Wales Division celebrate that you are part of the Army’s story in this nation.
