Join with Salvationists of the Wales Division for Day 19 of 150 days of prayer.

  • ‘The heavens show us how great God is. The sky above shows his good work. Each day speaks about God, until the next day continues the story’ (Psalm 19:1-2, EasyEnglish Bible).

1892

‘In this out of the way spot [Llanishen] we have The Salvation Army. Sergt Parker (now promoted to Sergeant Major) and his dear wife are true blood and fire soldiers and, assisted by a few other comrades of the same spirit, spend their time on Sundays in open-air meetings, selling War Crys, visitation and cottage meetings, and also hold two weeknight meetings’ (War Cry, 20 August 1892).

There were nearly a dozen men and women converted, who afterwards worked with the Army, trying to get others saved. A permanent corps was not established in Llanishen, but a faithful witness was maintained by these Salvationists.
