Join with Salvationists of the Wales Division for day 143 of 150 days of prayer.

  • 'Teach me to do what pleases you, because you are my God. Let your kind Spirit lead me, so that I can walk in a safe place' (Psalm 143:10, EasyEnglish Bible).

2016

The Salvationist (24 September 2016) carried a profile of Cadets Roelof and Tanyia Vermeulen, who were about to enter the William Booth College (WBC) from Penarth Corps:

‘Originally from South Africa, Roelof and Tanyia have lived in Wales for the past nine years with their sons Allan and Gareth. In 2004 they became adherent members at Krugersdorp Corps (Southern Africa) and, after a move to the UK in 2007, were enrolled as soldiers at Penarth where, supported and encouraged by the corps, their spiritual lives developed.

‘Although Roelof had felt called before, it was at a Design for Life weekend in 2015 that he answered God’s call, along with Tanyia, who worked as a community development manager at Cardiff East. They believe that the education and environment at WBC are designed to help spiritual health and will help them grow closer to God, by fostering devotion to him and preparing and equipping them for future ministry.’

Prayer

  • Pray for Penarth Corps, in this case a stepping stone for soldiers to become officers. Has your location been a stepping stone for some to go on to be officers?
  • Celebrate being that firm foundation for others to use in their leadership story.
