Join with Salvationists of the Wales Division for day 141 of 150 days of prayer.

  • 'I offer my prayer to you like incense. Please accept it when I raise my hands to you. Accept it like a gift that I offer to you in the evening' (Psalm 141:2, EasyEnglish Bible).

2014

The Salvationist (23 August 2014) reported on the Army’s involvement in the national Eisteddfod in Llanelli as part of its 140th anniversary in Wales:

‘The Salvation Army joined the festivities at the National Eisteddfod, a week-long Welsh-language festival, to celebrate 140 years of service in Wales.

‘The exhibition remembered the work of the country’s first corps in Cardiff and celebrated the progress that has been made since.

‘Divisional Commander Major Derek Jones said, “We’re delighted to be part of the National Eisteddfod, and this will be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our work in Wales.”

‘Welsh Language Outreach Worker the Rev Roger Thomas said the Army’s presence at the festival demonstrated that the Army was at the heart of the Welsh language culture.’

Prayer

  • Celebrate those years when The Salvation Army has had a presence at these national events. Pray that we will continue to take every opportunity given to us to be represented at these festivals of Welsh life.
