Join with Salvationists of the Wales Division for day 136 of 150 days of prayer.

  • 'So thank the Lord! His faithful love will always continue. Yes, thank the God of heaven! His faithful love will always continue' (Psalm 136:25 and 26, EasyEnglish Bible).

2009

The Salvationist (21 March 2009) carried a tribute to Songster Gwyn Thomas of Swansea:

‘Gwyn was a born storyteller, his favourite being that of his walk with God. He lived out his story, radiating his faith. A widower, he was introduced to the Army by Glenys, whom he later married.

‘After becoming a soldier, he was whole-heartedly involved in the corps programme, using his gifts as welcome sergeant, in the luncheon club, the Friendly Circle, the charity shop, the songsters and the soup-run. Gwyn was an encourager.’

A week later the Salvationist reported on a fundraising concert at Wrexham Corps:

‘A charity concert held at St Giles parish church to celebrate St David’s Day featured Charlie Green (vocal, Droitwich), Acton Park Junior School and Yale College Choir and the band and songsters. Proceeds of £750 were shared between Street Pastors and the corps’ Ark community centre.’

Prayer

  • Who are the encouragers that you know? Pray for them.
  • Pray for all the volunteers and leaders in your own situation. If there are some that particularly come to mind pray over them now.
