Join with Salvationists of the Wales Division for day 102 of 150 days of prayer.

  • 'Lord, please hear my prayer! Listen to me when I call to you for help' (Psalm 102:1, EasyEnglish Bible).

1975

A tribute to Major Ernest Bentley, recently promoted to Glory, appeared in the 25 January War Cry:

‘When the corps at Skewen was reopened, among a number of converts were five brothers of whom Ernest Bentley was one … he was an able musician and was well-known for his concertina playing.

‘In St Peter Port he formed a youth orchestra, and all through his years of active service and into retirement he wrote and produced demonstrations for young people … but he will be best remembered for his exposition of the Scriptures, which he loved to preach and teach.’

Prayer

  • Reflect on and give thanks for the people who have influenced your Christian life and service. Ask yourself how you might be able to influence others to follow the Jesus you love?
