MACA Dance

Blessing God and inspiring others to worship through the medium of dance.

MACA Dance is a Salvation Army dance group set up by the Music and Creative Arts team. The group is made up of highly trained dancers aged 16 and over who are connected to The Salvation Army and want to express their faith, worship God and bless others through dance.

We perform at territorial events and support divisional creative arts days and summer schools. We also lead services and workshops at corps.

The group visits corps three times a year for Come and Dance with MACA Dance weekends.

Saturday: Afternoon workshop for children aged 6–17 years, followed by a working audition for potential new members of MACA Dance and MACA Dance Jr.
Sunday: A dance-based morning meeting featuring the children from the Saturday workshop

Stephanie Lamplough

Assistant Director of Music and Creative Arts

Steph is the artistic director of MACA Dance. When founding the group, she wanted to provide dancers within The Salvation Army the opportunity to show use dance as a way of worship.

As a keen performer herself, Steph is delighted that MACA Dance have the opportunity to choreograph and perform, displaying their love for God while equipping others to do the same.

Alicia Begley

Alicia started dancing as a young girl after being inspired by her father, who was a professional dancer. As a lifelong Salvationist, she is passionate about using dance and creative praise in worship.

Alicia has a son, lives in Bournemouth and attends Boscombe Corps.

Taffy Bizure

Taffy has always been an enthusiastic dancer. She started volunteering for summer schools as a student leader and then as a full leader as years went on. She obtained a BTEC in performing arts which developed her teaching abilities and expanded her knowledge of dance.

Taffy attends Derby Central Corps and loves the idea of using dance as a form of worship (see Psalm 87:7).

Josie Lamplough

Josie worships with her family at Birmingham Citadel Corps. She has always had a passion for creative arts, especially musical theatre, and is currently studying at the Guildford School of Acting (GSA).

Prior to attending GSA, Josie studied ballet, tap and jazz at M3 Studios. Whilst studying in London, Josie is attending Hendon Corps.

Erin Moir

Erin attended the BRIT School for two years and is now studying professional dance and musical theatre at Urdang. She also teaches at a local performing arts school.

She has performed at the Adelphi Theatre and Shaftesbury Theatre in the West End, as well as at the Barbican, Royal Albert Hall and the House of Lords.

Erin attends Regent Hall Corps and loves using her talents to worship and give thanks to God.

Grace Moir

Grace has always had a passion for dance. She attended her local dance school from the age of six, training in the foundations of ballet, tap and jazz. She now teaches children at a musical theatre dance school and is part of the Belongings cast.

Grace attends Regent Hall Corps and is part of the singing company.

Esther Perry

Esther is an Australian dancer and choreographer. She completed her bachelor's degree in dance performance before moving to London to complete her master of fine arts degree in dance choreography.

Her creativity is encompassed in her worship of God. She has created a number of dances to contemporary Christian music and performed them in local churches.

Marissa Riley

As an intern in the USA Central Territory, Marissa led a dance group performing at commissioning events and the Divisional Dance Troupe for the Eastern Michigan Division.

In 2022, she obtained a bachelor of arts degree in dance and subsequently held the role of divisional assistant director of music and arts in the North and Central Illinois Division.

Marissa’s desire is to use her gifts in music and the arts for God’s glory.

Jess Seabridge

Jess has always loved to dance. Growing up, she trained in a number of different dance styles. She has performed in many shows, exams and competitions, and was part of Team England at the Dance World Cup.

Jess is grateful that MACA Dance gives her the opportunity to combine dance with faith. She attends Birmingham Citadel Corps and leads the dance group.

Esther T

Esther feels that dance allows her to express her passion and faith through movement, and has taken part in many dance shows over the years. One of her most cherished moments was performing as Cinderella in a ballet show.

Beyond performances, she uses dance as a form of worship, expressing her faith during Sunday services.

Annabelle

Annabelle worships with her family at her local corps. Alongside studying for her A levels, she attends dance classes at M3 Studios and performs in their annual showcases.

She has always had a passion for dance and performing arts, and is grateful to be able to express her love for God through MACA Dance.

Chloe

Chloe is currently studying her A levels in dance, theatre and drama. She also studies dance at the Centre for Advanced Training at weekends and is involved in cheerleading.

Chloe loves expressing herself through dance as it allows her to worship God. She leads a youth dance group at her local corps.
