Croydon Citadel will be open for prayer and reflection throughout the afternoon.

Feel free to drop in and take time before the busyness of the weekend to ask God to bless and use the event for his purposes.

Tea and cake will be provided from 4.15pm.

A dedicated prayer team will also be ready to offer prayer support over the weekend.

A prayer walk stopping at significant buildings to pray for the community and The Salvation Army’s work further afield.

On arriving at Fairfield Halls, we will pray God’s blessing over the spaces that will be used during the weekend, asking God to make it holy ground.

A new musical written by Stephanie Lamplough and Paul Sharman (Music and Creative Arts), with refreshments available after the performance has finished and a pop-up charity shop open from 9pm to 10pm.

Synopsis

A Salvation Army charity shop: A place full of belongings – a place where people belong. 

A Salvation Army charity shop on a wet and windy high street. The shop is full of people but for very different reasons. For some, it’s their job or an opportunity to volunteer and give something back. For others it’s a regular lifeline, a part of their routine. And then there are those who are there for the very first time.  

When a storm hits, these almost-strangers decide to spend the afternoon together, rather than venturing into the rain. With nothing much to do, they bond over tea and stories. But one person has a story they aren’t telling – a story with devastating consequences.
