This year’s Christmas issue of Kids Alive! and War Cry will be 3 December. While orders for extra copies closed on 17 November, you can contact SP&S to see if there are any additional copies available.

Toy retailer The Entertainer has once again teamed up with The Salvation Army to launch The Big Toy Appeal, an initiative that aims to give as many underprivileged children as possible the joy of opening a gift on Christmas Day. 

The Big Toy Appeal encourages customers to pick up an extra toy to donate towards the cause when they visit The Entertainer in-store or shop online at thetoyshop.com. For every gift donated, The Entertainer will also contribute a toy, doubling the number of donations that will go towards families in need of support this Christmas. 

This year, The Big Toy Appeal will run in all UK stores, as well as online until Wednesday 30 November.

Our fundraising team will take the donation and allocate it accordingly. Office hours are from 8.15am to 6pm. If you’d like to make a donation outside of these hours, please call 0800 028 4000.

If you know someone who needs help, contact your nearest corps or centre to see if they can support. You can find local Salvation Army contact details on salvationarmy.org.uk.

Please be aware our corps and centres receive a high number of enquiries at this time of year and so are not always able to answer calls or messages immediately. If needed, please email your request for follow up to info@salvationarmy.org.uk.

If you are concerned for someone who is rough-sleeping, please contact StreetLink with details of where you have seen them so the outreach team can make contact with them directly. Visit streetlink.org.uk or phone 0300 500 0914. 

If you are concerned for someone who is sofa-surfing or is at risk of homelessness, we would recommend that you get in touch with your local authority homelessness prevention team, who are best placed to assist. Find your local council on gov.uk.

If you suspect someone may be a victim of modern slavery and in need of help, please phone our 24/7 confidential referral helpline: 0800 808 3733.

If there is an immediate danger to the suspected victim or if you think that the suspected victim is under 18, inform the police and call 999 as a matter of urgency.
