Share the Easter story with the Kids Alive! spring special
Cara Mott
Kids Alive! Editor Cara Mott explains why the spring special of the comic is a cracking resource for Easter.
If you’re anything like members of the Kids Alive! team, you’re longing for spring to, well, spring!
As we’ve been looking forward to lighter, brighter and warmer days, our minds have turned to the opportunity that Easter brings to engage with, and minister to, children. So, we’ve been working hard on this year’s spring special.
The idea behind the spring special is to provide corps with a resource that can be used to minister to children around Easter. Visiting schools in the lead up to Easter? The spring special is for you! Running a holiday club during the spring break? The spring special is for you! Organising special kids’ activities over the Easter weekend? Yep, you guessed it … the spring special for you!
The issue will be in place of the 16 March Kids Alive! and will be left undated, giving it a longer shelf life. There’ll be an emphasis on Easter and it’ll include lots of the usual features, including puzzles, fun facts, a competition, things to make or do and, of course, our eggs-cruciatingly runny yolks … erm, excruciatingly funny jokes! There’ll be a focus on new life and the fresh start available to all through Jesus. There'll also be a four-page pull-out of the Easter story, retelling the events of Holy Week in cartoon form.
It’s been nine years since Kids Alive! published its first spring special and each edition has been well received with double our usual weekly orders – a sure sign there’s a real appetite for this resource.
So, what are you waiting for? Spring into action and contact the subscriptions team now! You can reach them by emailing subscriptions@satcol.org or calling 01933 445445 (option 1, option 1). The deadline for orders is Thursday 29 February, so order yours today!
