Welcome to live updates from Saturday at Together 2022.
I’m Beth and I’m the editor of salvationist.org.uk.
I’m at the ICC, the main venue for the weekend, where people are busy setting up for the doors to open at 1pm. Next door, at The Rep Theatre, there has been a Bible study on the theme for the weekend: Love God, Love Others.
Meanwhile, over in Edgbaston, Salvationists have joined the weekly Parkrun, giving people the chance to worship through exercise and connect with the community.
Salvation Army water bottles were available for runners to take away at the event. Sports Mission Lead Rod Moye said: ‘We wanted to give them something that was reusable. Each bottle has a QR code on it that takes them to a devotional on salvationist.org.uk.
‘It’s something they can reflect on afterwards. We hope it will help people to pause and consider how they move, how they meet, and how they model their sport and faith in their life.’
Coming up today at Together 2022:
- From 1pm: Workshops, seminars, foyer concerts and a marketplace featuring SP&S in the ICC; busking and sports in Brindleyplace.
- 6pm: Together in Worship at the ICC – three sessions with short intervals in between.
