Riverbank is a place for women of all ages to gather together and encounter God in worship, engage in Christian teaching and explore our God-given potential.

Where: The Slate Conference Centre, Warwick University, Coventry, CV4 7SH
Theme for 2025: Mind the Gap. ‘One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts’ (Psalm 145:4).

‘On the Sabbath we went a little way outside the city to a riverbank, where we thought people would be meeting for prayer, and we sat down to speak with some women who had gathered there.’ Acts 16:13.

When Paul and Timothy landed in the city of Philippi, instead of finding a group of men with whom they could share the good news of Jesus, they encountered the first women’s fellowship recorded in the New Testament. They met Lydia, a businesswoman dealing luxurious purple cloth, together with a group of women. As a result of this encounter with Paul and Timothy, Lydia and her household were converted!

We want to invite you to the Riverbank to meet with other women and discover a place to:

encounter God in worship;
engage in Christian teaching;
explore our God-given potential.

Mind the Gap

‘One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts’ (Psalm 145:4).

The word ‘mind’ means ‘to pay attention to’. At Riverbank 2025 we will explore how we develop relationships that enable us to share the good news across the generations, learning and growing with one another.

What is the accommodation like?

All accommodation is situated on site next to The Slate Conference Centre in either the Scarman or Radcliffe buildings. Check-in is available from 3pm on Friday. There is also a dining room and coffee lounge nearby. For more information, visit warwick.ac.uk.

Single and twin rooms are available. All accommodation is accessible by lift and fully accessible rooms are available. All accommodation includes the following:

Double or twin beds
En-suite bathroom facilities
Spacious desk area
Free Wi-Fi
LCD television with Freeview
Tea and coffee making facilities
Hairdryer, towels, toiletries, iron, ironing board

What other facilities are available?

Riverbank attendees will also be able to make use of the university swimming pool and fitness centre at specified times for free. Local walking and running route maps are also available.

How do I get to The Slate Conference Centre?

Travel arrangements are your responsibility. We hope the following information is helpful:

By car: The venue is easily accessible from many major routes: M1, M6, M5, M42, A5 and A14. Pre-bookable car parking on site is free. Full information will be sent to attendees.
By public transport: The nearest train station is Coventry. Regular bus services are available from Coventry city centre and the railway station to the university. Taxis are also available.
By air: Birmingham International Airport is approximately 20 minutes away from the conference centre.

Can my dietary requirements be catered for?

Please specify your dietary needs on your booking form and we will pass this to the conference centre caterers, who will ensure your needs are met

I have other specific needs. Can these be catered for?

We want Riverbank to be accessible for as many people as possible. All areas of the conference centre and accommodation can be accessed via level pathways and/or lifts. There are fully accessible bedrooms available. British Sign Language will be provided at the main sessions.

Will pastoral care support be available at Riverbank?

Riverbank will be supported by conference chaplains, who will be available to you throughout the event, together with a prayer team, who will be willing to pray with and for you.
